BALANGA CITY, Bataan – There was no Labor Day rally in Bataan on Tuesday but instead a jobs fair was held in Balanga City under the theme “Pagtutulungan, Pagbabago at Disenteng Trabaho para sa Araw ng Paggawa.”

Melchor Cui, head of the Provincial Employment Service Office, said more than 100 jobs of different positions are being offered for the one-day fair for both local and foreign employment.

He said more local jobs are offered for fresh college graduates. More than 700 applicants have so far registered at the covered court of the Bataan Peninsula State University.

“Ito’y pagtatagpo ng mga employer at mga naghahanap ng trabaho upang maiwasan ang malaking gastos ng mga job applicants sa pagpunta-punta sa kung saan-saang kumpanya,” Cui said.

A first timer who graduated four years ago trooped to the jobs said he was applying for any position. A fresh graduate of Computer Technology was applying as sales clerk.

A woman, a high school graduate, said she was interested in a job abroad, preferably as a domestic helper.

“Medyo mahirap na ang buhay dito sa atin,” she answered when asked why she wanted to work in a foreign country.
