Jobless man killed, 3 nabbed in anti-drug raid

    CABANATUAN CITY – A 32-year-old unemployed resident of this city was killed in an exchange of gunfire with policemen implementing search warrants for shabu in their residence in Purok 3, Barangay Vijandre here Tuesday night, police said.

    Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief, said Reagan Mesde died on the spot from bullet wounds when operatives returned fire at around 6 p.m.

    Zafra said operatives were implementing the search warrants against Mesde and his elder brother Eduardo, 39, married who was also jobless.

    “When the search warrant was about to be served. Reagan Mesde suddenly drew a short firearm then shot at the policeman,” Zafra said.

    Investigators recovered a .38 revolver, 14 pieces of heat sealed sachets of suspected shabu.

    Police arrested Eduardo and two other people identified as Romnick Casapao, 28, a telecom agent and a 34-yearold woman who were at the place during the operation.
