CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — For job seekers in this capital city, employment has become literally just a click away.

Mayor Edwin Santiago said he has implemented an innovation called Job Search Kiosk (JSK) which he described as “a touch-screen, ATM-type equipment which stores information of thousands of job opportunities in the Philippines and foreign lands.”

Santiago received this city’s brand new JSK from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

“San Fernando is the first recipient of a systematically upgraded JSK among the 22 local governments in Pampanga,” he noted.

“This innovation marks anothermilestone in our governance. With this machine, Fernandinos are ensured of a functional job matching and skills registry system. Moreover, we are helping employers who want to hire more manpower from the city” said Santiago.

He noted that “the system is aided by the Bureau of Local and Employment (BLE) PHILJOB. NET icon. This feature gives a comprehensive list of job openings from various local and overseas companies.”

“The opportunity to work abroad is also made easier through the collaboration of Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) which sets a list of available careers from all over the world,” he added. “These features are all found in our machine.”

JSK is also equipped with complete, accurate details including the job description, amount of wage, and the number of available positions for a certain Job Title. Applicants may also verify the authenticity of each agency and recruitment firm via the JSK.

Aside from securing jobs, applicants may also use the JSK to avail themselves of online services from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), National Reintegration Center for OFWS (NRCO), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).

Santiago said the JSK machine is accessible to his constituents anytime at the PESO in the city hall here.
