ANGELES CITY – The Department of Energy (DOE) announced yesterday that Pantawid Pasada cardholders whose jeepneys’ plate numbers end with “1” and “2” may use their cards in participating gas stations nationwide.
The DOE said only jeepney drivers with Pantawid Pasada cards claimed before December 31, 2011 and had been loaded with the initial amount of P1,050 and claimed before last Dec. 31 can now enjoy the P1,200 reload.
Last Feb. 29, jeepneys with plate numbers ending in “0” were already reloaded.
The DOE stressed that the program “is a response to the unabated fuel price hikes stemming from the continued tensions in the Middle East, coupled with increasing demand of major oil consuming countries which also serves to cushion the impact of high fuel prices, particularly to the public utility jeepneys.”
