SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Operatives of the Zambales Police nabbed one of the four inmates who escaped from the Zambales Provincial Jail in Barangay Pundakit here Wednesday night.
Police Senior Insp.Jelson Dayupay, San Antonio Police chief, identified the escapee as Rayson Cruz, 28, of Barangay East Dirita, this town.
Cruz is facing charges at the Zambales Regional Trial Court for the crime of “robbery with force upon things.”
He was nabbed after one month of manhunt operation while hiding in Barangay Pundakit after escaping from jail last March 7, 2011.
It was recalled that the suspect and three of his companions identified as Ener Dolandolan, facing a theft case; Jessie Bulatao, illegal possession of firearm and ammunitions case; Leymark Canazosa, robbery with homicide case, escaped by boring a hole at the communal comfort room of their detention cell near the Agrarian Reform Office.
Recovered from Cruz’s possession were one black leather wallet containing five assorted rings, one bracelet and P520 cash believed to have been stolen by the suspect after it was identified by the owner Jelene Pantaleon, 41, of Terra Ville Subdivision, Barangay Burgos, San Antonio, Zambales.
The suspect is now under the custody of the San Antonio Police Station.
