Jabs for 1st, 2nd doses continue in Bataan

BALANGA CITY — The provincial health office on Friday announced that vaccination for first and second doses against the coronavirus disease in Bataan continued for medical and non-medical frontliners as well as for senior citizens.

PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said in a statement that 23,323 medical and non-medical frontliners and senior citizens have so far been vaccinated with the first dose while those earlier given either AstraZeneca or Sinovac were receiving their second jab.

There was no available data yet on how many have received their second dose.

Buccahan said they are preparing for the vaccination of those belonging to priority group A3 or persons with comorbidity.

Bataan has so far received from the Department of Health 32,730 single dose per vial of Coronavac and 2,420 of 10-12 doses per vial of AstraZeneca.

Vaccinations were being held at the Bataan People’s Center and Lou-is Resort in Balanga City and inoculation centers in Dinalupihan, Orion, Limay, and Mariveles.

Meanwhile, as of PHO’s report, Bataan registered Friday 120 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, 66 new recoveries and three new deaths.

With these new data, the number of those who have tested positive rose to 7,616, those who have recovered to 5,986 and casualties to 252.

The new infections were from Balanga City with 25, followed by Mariveles – 24, Abucay – 18, Dinalupihan – 12, Limay – 12, Pilar – 12, Hermosa – 7, Orion – 5, Samal – 3, and Orani – 2.

A 64-year-old male from Limay, 72-year-old female from Orani and 73-year-old male from Pilar were the new fatalities.

New recoveries were from Orion with 19, Balanga City, 15; Dinalupihan, 7; Pilar, 6; Mariveles, 6; Abucay, 3; Bagac, 3; Samal, 3; Morong, 2; Limay, 1; and Orani, 1.
