SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan—Ipinagbunyi ng mga residente ng bayang ito ang proklamasyon ni Pangulong Aquino sa Information Technology Park (IT Park) kamakailan dahil sa inaasahang higit na kaunlarang hatid nito.
“This is another step towards the realization of our dreams,” ani Mayor Lorna Silverio patungkol sa Proclamation No. 316.
Ang nasabing proklamasyon ay nilagdaan noong Enero 12 ni Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa para kay Pangulong Aquino.
Bahagi ng proklamasyon ay nagsasaad ng: ”Pursuant to the powers vested in me under Republic Act (RA) No. 7916, otherwise known as the Special Economic Zone Act of 1995, as amended by RA No. 8748, and upon recommendation of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, do hereby create and designate, subject to the provisions of RA No. 7916, as amended, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, Resolution No. 00-411 (s. 2000), as amended by Resolution No. 04-295 (s. 2004) and Resolution No. 11-267 (s. 2011), as amended by Resolution No. 11-524 (s. 2011) of the PEZA Board of Directors, the fully developed PDC Information Techno Park located at Barangay Tambubong, San Rafael, Bulacan, as an Information Technology (IT) Park.
Ang nasabing IT Park ay matatagpuan di kalayuan sa pambayang hangganan ng San Rafael at ng Baliuag.
Ayon kay Silverio, umaasa silang higit na darami ang mga negosyanteng mamumuhunan sa 8.8 ektaryang Pilipinas Development Corporation (PDC) IT Park na matatagpuan sa Barangay Tambubong sa bayang ito.
Inihalimbawa ng alkalde na noong nakaraang Disyembre ay nagpahayag ng interes ang Sutherland Global Services, isang nangungunang business process outsouring (BPO) company na nakabase sa Estado Unidos upang magtayo ng call center sa nasabing IT Park.
Ayon pa kay Silverio, nagsimula na ang konstruksyon ng pasilidad ng Sutherland sa IT Park, bukod sa pagsasagawa ng dalawang araw na jobs fair noong Disyembre. Inaasahang aabot sa 3,000 call center agents ang magtatrabaho sa Sutherland.
“It will not only boost economic development of San Rafael and nearby towns, it will also provide job opportunities to many Bulakenyos,” ani Silverio at iginiit na umaabot sa P500-Milyon ang puhunang pumasok sa kanilang bayan noong nakaraang taon.
