CABANATUAN CITY – Several offices within the National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-UPRRIS) received 20 brand new motorcycle units in ceremonies here Monday.

Engr. Gertrudes Viado, acting department manager of UPRIIS, handed over the symbolic keys for the motorcycles to the division managers, section chiefs, and key staff of the different UPRIIS offices.

The bikes came from the NIA Central Office, said Viado.

Rev.Fr. Alfonso Saulo presided the blessing of the motorcycle units last February 14 after the celebration of the Ash Wednesday Mass at NIA UPRIIS Chapel.

UPRIIS division offices, and head office section offices of the Engineering and Operations Division (EOD) received two units each of the motorcycle, the UPRIIS information office said.

“The newly-acquired motorcycles will aid in the monitoring activities of NIA field personnel contributing to the smooth operation of the agency’s irrigation services,” it added.
