SAMAL, Bataan- Municipal workers of the Commission on Elections in Bataan on Wednesday continued conducting information campaigns down to the barangays on the proper way of voting in the May 10 elections.
Equipped with sound system, white board and laptop computer, a Comelec municipal supervisor explained to village folk in Sta. Lucia, one of 14 barangays in Samal, how to vote in the first automated elections in the country.
“Do not over vote and do not make any marking on the ballots,” the election supervisor repeatedly cautioned the voters.
She said that for the position of 12 senators for example, the vote will be invalid if the voter shades 13 or more names on the ballot. “Pwedeng kulang huwag lang sobra,” she said.
“Do not use the shading pen on other parts of the ballot or it will be considered invalid,” she emphasized.
The election officer said they have been conducting the information drive since January 18 and only two of 14 barangays in the farming town are left. She asked the attendees to inform their relatives and neighbors of the proper way of voting.
She also asked the voters to be at the covered court of the town plaza on February 17 to see for themselves the actual Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines and how it operates.
