ANGELES CITY – Thirty “Kopinos” or Korean-Filipino children and their mothers received much needed assistance from the Lion’s Club International of Incheon, South Korea in cooperation with the Angeleños Lions Club during a simple ceremony held at the VIP Hotel here on Monday.

Choi Myungho, district governor of Lions Club International District 354-F (Incheon, Korea), said through Korean interpreter Steve Kim that their first mission is to support the Kopinos and their mothers by initially offering them twoyear scholarships ranging from elementary, high school and college as well as giving them various school supplies.

But Choi also said in order to continuously support the Kopinos and their community, they need to establish a club here which will be named Lions Club International of Clark.

Choi also said the Kopinos underwent screening and their numbers might still increase as he gave credit to the help extended by the Angeleños Lions Club which he said is very famous in Korea.

Angeles Water District chairman Bernie Cruz, who presented himself as the advisor to the governors of the Angeleños Lion’s Club, named those in attendance from the local club as Governors William Tan, Ber dela Rosa and Let Cruz.
