    Cojuangco dad, son proclaimed winners

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Tarlac provincial board of canvassers has proclaimed Enrique Cojuangco Sr. and his son Enrique Cojuangco Jr. as the duly elected first district representative and vice governor of Tarlac,  respectively.

    Both were unopposed in the last polls.

    After the proclamation Tuesday night, the board adjourned  pending the transmission of election results from remaining municipalities.

    The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) said the board was set to resume at 8 a.m. Wednesday but failed to do so due to the failure of several towns to transmit results of the elections in their areas due to defective CF cards.

    Camiling, Capas, Tarlac City, Concepcion, Gerona, La Paz, Pura, Ramos, San Jose, and Victoria still had to transmit their data as of noontime.

    In many towns in Tarlac, however, winners in local polls had already been proclaimed.

    Benjamin Tesoro was proclaimed mayoral winner in San Manuel town, garnering 4,455 votes against closest rival Malyn Rillera who got 4,175 votes.

    In Sta. Ignacia town, Saklulu Enrado of LP was proclaimed mayoral race winner with 10,103 votes while lone rival Panky Mangahas got 8,714 votes.

    The Comelec also said Edgardo Felipe was re-elected as mayor of Anao. He garnered 2,959 votes while his challenger Jappy De Dios got 2,211 votes.

    In Moncada, Benny Aquino was also re-elected mayor after garnering 18,594 votes. His lone challenger Leslie Lopez got 1,504 votes.

    Also proclaimed winner was Jon Feliciano as mayor of Bamban, garnering 11,225 votes against closest rival incumbent Mayor Ding Anunciacion who got 8,530 votes.

    In Mayantoc,  Iluminado Pobre Jr. was named winner in the mayoral race with 8,312 votes, while lone rival Marciano Pulido got merely 404 votes.

    Roseller Toledo has been proclaimed as mayor of San Clemente after getting a total of 2,392 votes as against his lone rival Boyet Pacada who got 1,941 votes.

    In the northern town of Paniqui, Miguel Rivilla was re-elected mayor with 13,738 votes while his lone challenger Rommel David got 12,576 votes.
