CLARK FREEPORT – “We want to start business in small areas with business growth possibilities.”
Thus said Metro Clark Information and Communications Technology Council (MCICTC) Chairman George Sorio in his speech at the ceremonial launch of the 2nd National ICT Confederation Summit here on Wednesday night.
“The NCIP, with absolute conviction, will generate jobs in the rural areas,” added Sorio.
Sorio, a senior executive of the Cyber City Teleservices, said that the summit would pave the way to “a more promising ICT Philippines.”
“I call on all key players of the NCIP alive at all times. Let’s stimulate optimism. Let’s translate all words into action. For us, there are no backward moves. Forward and upward are the only way to go,” said Sorio.
At least 4,000 attendees are expected to join the 2nd National ICT conference slated from Nov. 5-7 at the Clark Expo here. It is organized by the MCITCC, Clark Development Corp. (CDC), Comclark Network Technology Corp. and Cyber City.
Mabalacat Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales, for his part, said “Clark is a strategic and select location for the active upstart of the information and communication technology industry.” He added that “more investors are coming to the freeport due to its logistical support such as the airport.”
MCICT officials said the event was slated in Clark due to the huge growth and development in the ICT in the country.
Others who graced the occasion at the Stotsenberg Hotel here were Aurora Rep. Sonny Angara, CICT Commissioner Monchito Ibrahim and business leaders in Clark and Pampanga.
