CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial police here are hunting down the still unidentified suspect in the killing of three brothers and two more of their relatives last Saturday night in front of their house in Barangay Sta.
Maria in Sta. Ana town.
Pampanga police director Senior Supt. Oscar Albayalde said the suspect shot dead brothers Rodel, Angelito and Pedro, all surnamed Romero, during a drinking spree in front of their house late in the night. Albayalde said the gunman also wounded their relatives Bernabe and Rowena Romero.
Sta. Ana police head Chief Inspector Paul Gamido reported to Albayalde that neighbors noticed nothing unusual at the drinking spree before the shots rang out.
But Gamido quoted an elder sister of the victims, identified as Gloria Romero, telling probers that four of her
brothers, including the three who were killed, had frequently been blamed for thefts in their community.
She also said that her brother Pedro, one of those killed, had lately been accused of having an affair with a married woman whose husband in an overseas contract worker.
Albayalde said he has alerted even police stations outside of Sta. Ana to coordinate with each other for the identification of the suspect or suspects. He noted that because the shooting happened late in the night, no neighbor witnessed the crime, while other members of the Romero household were inside their house.
