Of these, 400 were from the 17 barangays of Olongapo, 1,450 from Subic town, and 263 from Castillejos.
In his message after leading the pledge to reform among those who surrendered, City Mayor Rolen Paulino offered the “reformists” a livelihood package comprising of casket-making. This in line with the city government program of providing free caskets to poor residents who cannot afford one for a deceased family member.
The mayor although warned those who would backslide to their old vice that the casket they made could be the same one they would themselves be buried in.

“Natutuwa ako sa mga nag-surender at yung iba ayaw mapasama sa “order of battle” at gusto ko lang linawin na habang sumasailalim kayo sa rehabilitation nakasaad doon sa oath ninyo na “walang pananagutan ang gobyerno sa akin habang ako ay nasa ilalim ng reporma,” the Mayor reminded them.
City police director Senior Supt. Jerry Sumbad said he was happy that many heeded their call to surrender pursuant to Oplan Doble Barrel.
