CLARK FREEPORT – Fortunegate Casino is slated for opening this month.
This was the announcement made by Fortunegate Casino general manager Ed Dacanay during a press conference at Hotel Stotsenberg here on Friday.
Dacanay said the casino will have 28 gaming tables, 134 slot machines and a money wheel as well as some VIP rooms, an entertainment space, a bar and other non-gaming facilities.
With Fortunegate Casino’s opening this month, this freeport is now fast becoming the entertainment city and gaming capital of the region because of its accessibility to the Clark International Airport as noted by Dacanay.
Hotel Stotsenberg was established in 2004 which operated Casablanca Casino.
In February 2016, the hotel, which gained popularity as a favorite venue for MICE as well as weddings, birthdays and annual events of different organizations and companies, was acquired by Frontier Capital Group (FCG).
The Australian-listed FCG first revealed its plans to resume casino operations at Hotel Stotsenberg after confi rming it has the necessary funds to settle a P225 million (US$4.4 million) PAGCOR escrow payment.
After completing the takeover of Hotel Stotsenberg for a cost of AU$26 million (US$18.1 million), FCG was forced to close casino operations on in 2017 after PAGCOR ordered the escrow payment.
Fortunegate Casino will be the fifth casino in this freeport after Widus, Royce, Fontana and Mimosa casinos. Pokhara Junket Casino at Xenia Hotel was closed after incurring damage due to the April 22 6.1 magnitude earthquake which jolted Luzon.
