CABANATUAN CITY – An honest guard who readily returned a bag that contained
cash and a smart phone misplaced recently by a customer from Aurora province
at the SM Megacenter here was cited in simple rites on Thursday.
Francis Nuega, regional manager of SM Customer Relations, handed a
commendation to security guard Ryan Asuncion, of Llanera, Nueva Ecija.
Asuncion was conducting a roving inspection when he found an unattended bag
at a ramp of SM Megacenter which he immediately turned over to the Customer
Relations Services office.
The owner, Mary Joyce Rapsing of Barangay Matawe, Dingalan, Aurora claimed
her belongings the following day.
Nuega lauded the guard’s good deed noting that he stood committed to “duties
and responsibilities carrying the virtues of honesty and integrity” amid the crisis
brought by the pandemic.
“May this milestone be an inspiration to everyone to be a man honor and
dedication in serving our beloved SM customers with honesty and malasakit. In
behalf of SM management and the security agency we are very proud of SG
Asuncion” Nuega said.
Asuncion who is from a hardworking family from Llanera lives with his wife
Jamaica Leslie and their only daughter in Llanera. He has been working as security
guard with SM for almost five years under RJC Corporate Security & Service Inc.
Nuega said that Asuncion’s deed “exemplifies the commitment of SM Megacenter
mall guards to SM’s corporate values of honesty and integrity.”
The company commends and encourage its employees to be good examples in
the community, he added.
Asuncion said he was honored with the commendation even as he believed he
only did what he thought “in my heart as the right thing to do.”
