GAPAN CITY – A 24-year-old drug suspect, tagged as a high value target and alleged member of a criminal group, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bayanihan here at arpund 10:30 p.m.
City police chief Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito identified the suspect as Alvin Angeles, of Barangay San Vicente in this city and reportedly member of crime gang Diego Bandido.
Operatives from the police’s drugs enforcement unit recovered 15 sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P7,480, the marked P500 bill, and a loaded .38 revolver, Desamito said in her report to Nueva Ecija police director Col. Jess Mendez.
Desamito said the DEU led by Lt. Francisco Capili, along with other police units, conducted the buy bust in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
“The police poseur-buyer was able to purchase one heat sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect. Another 14 pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and said buy-bust marked money were confiscated/recovered from the suspect’s control and possession,” Desamito reported.
The suspect is now locked in jail facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Omnibus Election Code, police added.
