MABALACAT CITY — A high-value individual yielded over ₱749,000 worth of suspected marijuana products during a buy-bust operation conducted by this city’s police past midnight on July 25.
Police identified the suspect as alias Jim, 27, of Barangay Sapang Biabas.
Personnel from the Mabalacat CPS drug enforcement unit launched the anti-illegal drug operation at around 12:45 a.m., Friday, which resulted in the arrest and confiscation from the suspect of 2,121 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves with a standard drug price of ₱464,839; some 140 grams of suspected kush valued at ₱231,000; and 12 marijuana-infused vape cartridges worth ₱54,000.
Police Regional Office 3 director BGen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. commended the operating unit and emphasized the alignment of the operation with the Philippine National Police’s strategic direction.
“This successful operation reflects our commitment to the Chief PNP’s three pillars, particularly swift and responsive public service, the arrest of a high-value drug personality and the recovery of substantial quantities of illegal drugs demonstrate our continuing efforts to protect our communities from the dangers of drug abuse and criminality,” he said.
The suspect is presently under the custody of Mabalacat CPS and is set to face charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). PRO-3-PR
