High-powered guns, ammo seized in raid

    OLONGAPO CITY – Operatives of the Zambales office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group seized assorted high-powered firearms and ammunition in a raid at the house of a businessman in Nagsasa Cove, Barangay Pundaquit, San Antonio town.

    Under Oplan Paglalansag Omegaheaded by Zambales CIDG provincial officer Chief Inspector Edgar Balagso, operatives served a search warrant issued by Judge Roline Ginez-Jabalde of RTC Branch 74 at the house of suspect Jan Michael Movilla for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions).

    The CIDG team along with barangay officials found one Benjie Pamugas, caretaker of the house but the suspect was nowhere.

    The raiding team confiscated one .30 US carbine, one .22 rifle, one .38 revolver, two rifle-propelled grenades, one fragmentation grenade, six .40 millimeter M2O3 grenades, one magazine assembly for .22 rifle, three magazine assemblies for M16 rifle, one magazine assembly for carbine rifle, 38 pieces live ammos for .30 rifle, 10 pieces live ammos for M16 rifle, 10 pieces live ammos for carbine rifle, four pieces live ammos for .22 rifle, and five pieces live ammos for .38 revolver.

    Movilla has remained at large while a case for violation of RA 10591 is filed against him before the Provincial Prosecutors Offi ce in Iba, Zambales.
