HERMOSA, Bataan — The Department of Interior and Local Government has given an award to this town for its achievement in the fight against illegal drugs in virtual awarding rites the other day.
Mayor Antonio Joseph “Jopet” Inton announced Saturday his town being bestowed the Drug-Cleared Sustained Award, the only local government awardee in the province.
The citation reads: “In recognition of the LGU’s exemplary efforts in the performance of its duties in complementing the national government anti-illegal drug campaign through sustaining the drug-free status of their unaffected barangays from 2017 – 2019.”
Inton coined the motto LIPAD that stands for “L–alabanan I -iwasan P-puksain A-ng D-roga sa Hermosa” in the municipality’s successful drive against drugs.
The mayor cited the aggressive campaign of the town police led Major Jeffrey Onde and the cooperation of municipal and barangay officials and residents for the sustained accomplishment.
