CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Pampanga 3rd District Board Member Rosve Henson made his own rounds of several community pantries here over the weekend distributing farm produce sourced from farmers in the province.

Henson shared vegetables, eggs and rice to pantry organizers as he called for further support to the agricultural sector during these trying times. He urged donors to the community pantries to source goods from local producers like farmers.

“Farmers are among the hardest hit sector from this coronavirus pandemic. Instead of buying from commercial distributors, let us buy from farmers, poultry operators and fishpond owners. Let us help keep the supply chain going,” Henson said.

Henson also reminded community pantry operators to coordinate their crowd control with local authorities to ensure that proper social distancing is maintained during community pantry operations.

He added that community pantries should also be venues to remind people of the minimum health protocols to be observed during this pandemic.

“We have been asking organizers to help remind people of the things they should do to remain safe from viral infection. More than anything else public safety is an immediate concern,” Henson said.

Henson said that he will also visit other community pantries in the district in the coming days to extend more support. RHComGrp
