DINALUPIHAN, Bataan- “Bahay ni Impo” or haunted house on Friday evening opened in Mabini Proper, Dinalupihan town promising more frightful nights for visitors until November 1 as an All Saints Day treat.
“Hindi ito isang kultura sa aming bayan kundi isang naiibang panoorin na ang layunin ay magbigay kasiyahan sa mga manonood hindi lamang sa Dinalupihan kundi sa mga karatig-pook man sa Bataan, Zambales at Pampanga,” town Mayor Joel Payumo explained.
He challenged those with guts to try entering “Bahay ni Impo” that he said has made changes “more frightening” than the last three years.
The old house was constructed before World War II yet and belongs to the maternal grandparents of the mayor. A frail old man who oversees the house plays the role of “Impo”.
Entrance fee is P30 per person good from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 in the evening. Payumo said excess from the proceeds goes to projects for the youth.
Shrieks of children and even teenaged boys and girls were heard as “ghosts” and other “spirits” dashed from the dark portion of the house. “Nakakatakot pong talaga”, said teenaged girls.
“Medical personnel are on the alert for those with weak hearts but whom we advise not to enter the house anymore,” Payumo said.
