Quoting an incident report, Chief Inspector Joan Sibayan, head of Subic PNP, identified the victim as Arnold Gonzales y Mariano, 42 , welder, of Barangay Looc, Castillejos, Zambales.
The report said that after checking and sealing the rooftop leak at the Sub-assembly Shop 13-1, the victim started to inspect the 13-2 roofing and a heavy rain suddenly occurred.
The victim wore his rain coat and began to walk to the other side of the lower window not noticing that he stepped on the polycarbonate roof and fell directly to the shelter floor.
The victim was immediately rushed to Bay Point Hospital in Subic Bay Freeport but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The Subic Municipal Police Station is still conducting in-depth investigation.
Meanwhile, the Regional DOLE labor laws compliance officers will conduct an accident investigation at the shipyard to determine what really caused the slippage of the worker leading to his death.
