CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Right on Halloween, 19 individuals were arrested in Oplan Galugad jointly conducted by city and provincial police operatives.
Oplan Galugad is a regular program of the Philippine National Police with “stricter contingencies” to effect the arrest of criminal elements and violators of quarantine protocols.
Of the 19 arrested, two have standing arrest warrants, one is facing multiple cases of carnapping, illegal drugs and violation of land transportation and traffic code, three have drug-related cases, and 13 violated city ordinances and quarantine protocols.
Also seized in the raids were 26 sachets of suspected shabu, while 14 undocumented motorcycles were impounded.
“Hindi kami mapapagod na magbantay at gampanan ang aming tungkulin upang mapanatili naming payapa ang sitwasyon ng bawat lugar ng Pampanga, lalo na sa Siyudad San Fernando. Ginagawa natin ito upang makita nila na hindi tayo nagpapahinga sa pagsasagawa ng security coverage sa crime prevention efforts,” said Pampanga police director Col. Andres Ocampo Simbajon, Jr.
This, even as city police chief Lt. Col. Paul Gamido has consistently urged barangay officials to cooperate in the conduct of Oplan Galugad, especially during the pandemic.
Gamido said that the suspects and pieces of evidence were submitted to the custody of the CSF Police Station for proper disposition.
