ANGELES CITY – A fruit and vegetable outlet near the Pampang Public Market was sprayed with bullets by unidentified gunmen here past midnight yesterday.
City Police Director Sr. Supt. Pierre Bucsit said no one was hurt or injured when the suspects opened fire on Honey Bee Fruit and Vegetable store at Kalayaan St. in Barangay Pampanga at about 1:00 a.m.
Bucsit, quoting police investigators, said at least ten bullets had pierced through the wall of the store. He added that they had recovered three bullet slugs from the scene of the crime.
Bucsit disclosed that ballistics experts have yet to identify the suspects and the guns they used. He said that they have yet to establish the lead on the case.
But vendors at the Pampang market told Punto that the store had been selling cheaper products compared to other outlets.
“May mga naiingit malamang dahil masyadong mura ang tinda sa Honey Bee (they are others who may be envy because they sell cheaper products),” said the vendor.
Asked for reactions about the statements of the vendor, Bucsit said “the intelligence unit is still investigating it.”
