LIMAY, Bataan — Police operatives arrested a male gun ban violator at the Commission on Elections checkpoint here on Tuesday, August 29, second day of the implementation of the nationwide Comelec gun ban.
Limay police chief Major Dennis Duran reported to Col. Palmer Tria, Bataan police director, that suspect was caught in possession of a .45 pistol with an inserted magazine loaded with 10 ammunitions and one extra magazine with three ammunitions.
The suspect is the third gun ban violator in Bataan after Comelec checkpoints were set on Monday, August 28. One was arrested in Hermosa with a .38 handgun and the other with an improvised firearm in Morong.
Personnel of the Limay municipal police station and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company manned the Limay checkpoint.
The suspect faces a case for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions in relation to Omnibus Election Code.
