McDonald’s Capital Town, the biggest McDonald’s store in the Philippines, officially launched the Grimace Birthday Party, the brand’s newest celebration theme that brings a fun, timely twist to partygoers of all ages. Starting July 18, McDonald’s stores across the country will begin offering the Grimace Party Theme, giving customers the chance to celebrate with the beloved purple mascot in a colorful, interactive setting.
Grimace, born on June 12, 1971, turns 54 this year and remains a fan favorite among McDonald’s characters. The launch at Capital Town marked the beginning of nationwide festivities, with the unveiling of the newly repurposed Grimace Room.
“Our Grimace Room now was supposed to be a play place, but was not utilized due to the pandemic,” shared Jie Candor, Restaurant General Manager of McDonald’s Capital Town.
“And now we have a party area for Gen Zs aside from the kiddie parties that we usually offer.” Located on the second floor, the Grimace Room can accommodate 30 guests and is designed for more intimate celebrations.
It complements the store’s Hamburglar Room, which remains the largest McDonald’s party room in the Philippines with a capacity of 100 to 120 guests.
The new theme aims to redefine the Mcdo party experience, making it more inclusive for older age groups.
Guests included students from nearby communities, proving that the celebration appeals beyond just kids. The event featured classic party elements like parlor games, food packages, treats, loot bags, and the ceremonial cake and birthday greeting.
As a special treat, birthday guests received exclusive Grimace-themed merchandise such as bucket hats, socks, and tote bags.
City Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan and Dane Samson-Sayson, Assistant Vice President for Corporate Affairs of Megaworld, were also present during the launch, showing their support for the fun and community-driven initiative.
With the Grimace Birthday Party, McDonald’s invites everyone, whether young, grown-up, or young at heart, to celebrate with one of its most iconic characters in a party that’s bigger, brighter, and bolder than ever.
