BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Investments in school facilities continue to strengthen community resilience as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the rehabilitation of the multipurpose covered court at Pablo Roman National High School in Pilar, Bataan.
Located at Barangay Panilao, the P4.8-million project restored the structural integrity of the 624.58-square-meter facility, which has long served as a venue for school programs, sports activities, and community gatherings.
DPWH Bataan 2nd District Engineer Roland Rainier Victorino emphasized that the rehabilitation was designed to meet both educational and social needs of the area.

“The facility will benefit not only the school but also nearby communities. This rehabilitation reflects our commitment to providing safer, more resilient spaces that support learning and community engagement,” Victorino said.
Upgrades covered the replacement of the court slab, installation of wall cladding, cross bracing, and solar panels, as well as repainting of the facility.
With funding from the 2025 national budget, the initiative forms part of continuing government efforts to enhance social infrastructure that promotes inclusive growth and builds stronger, more resilient communities. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
