MABALACAT, Pampanga – The provincial government has prioritized the modernization and improvement of district hospitals as Gov. Lilia “Baby” Pineda led the inauguration of the Mabalacat District Hospital (MDH) on Friday.

This was according to 3rd District Board Member Monz Laus, chairman of the committee on health, as she joined Pineda, Vice Gov. Joseller Guiao and Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales in the re-opening of the MDH in barangay Camacilles here.

“We are taking care of the pending requests for repairs and hospital equipment coming from nine district hospitals. There are so many and we are doing it one by one until we complete them,” said Laus.

Pineda, for her part, said the purchase of a Computed Axial Tomography (CT) Scan for MDH would be their priority. “Hopefully, very soon,” she added.

Dr. Benjamin Arboleda, MDH chief, expressed gratitude to Pineda for the completion of the P10-million repair project of the hospital.

Arboleda said the MDH is a 25-bed hospital but it can accommodate at least 50 at a given time.

“We have a well-equipped hospital now. But we want to be known for giving good service,” he stressed to reporters.

Arboleda welcomed the plan of Pineda to provide a CT Scan and create a dialysis center for MDH.

Earlier, Pineda opened the dialysis center at the Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital (DMMH), the provincial hospital of Pampanga. There are nine district hospitals in the province, including the MDH.

Pineda also vowed to expand and rehabilitate the district hospital in Arayat town.
