Gov. Delta, Tetangco inaugurate Academic Bldg. 1st DHVSU Apalit Campus

APALIT, Pampanga – Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda led on Wednesday the blessing and inauguration of the Academic Building 1 at Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Apalit Campus.

The three-story building houses 12 classrooms, a computer lab, and a kitchen laboratory.

According to Governor Delta, the provincial government allocated P25-million for the construction of the building on the 1.2-hectare lot in Brgy. Sampaloc, which was donated by Apalit Mayor Oscar “Jun” Tetangco, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Tetangco.

“Malaking bagay po ito para sa ating mga Cabalen, lalo na rito sa forth district. Hindi na nila kailangan pang lumayo para makapag-aral, mismong ang DHVSU na ang inilapit natin sa kanila,” said Governor Delta.

He said, the AnaKalusugan Partylist has already committed P20-million for the construction of the Administrative Building.

The university now has 1,522 students enrolled in four programs: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology; Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management; Bachelor of Elementary Education; and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing.

Mayor Tetangco, for his part, said that the local government of Apalit will provide P4-million yearly to cover the staffing and operational costs of the university.

He further disclosed that the Academic Building 2 is currently 84% complete, and the P10-million gymnasium is still under construction.

“Sabi nga ni DHVSU President, Dr. Enrique Baking, kapag natapos ‘tong mga building na ‘to, kahit limang libong estudyante, kaya nating i-accommodate dito,” said Mayor Tetangco, adding that more programs will be offered in the campus in approximately two years.

Meanwhile, DHVSU President Baking extended his gratitude to Governor Delta, Mayor Tetangco, and other government officials who helped make the dream project a reality.

“Reng tau keti king Apalit, I am considering them na pekamaswerti na lang tau. Ing serbisyu na ning eskwela milapit ya karela, uli na ning kasaupan a dela da reng karelang manungkulan, munang muna i Governor Delta, plus of course, Mayor Tetangco. Maragul yang saup karela ini, kasi ala nang sangkan nung bakit ela mangayari keng karelang pamagaral,” said Baking.

The prayer service and blessing of the building was led by Monsignor Antonio Bustos, parish priest of the St. Peter the Apostle Parish in town.
