CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— In an initiative towards inclusive education, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has given P8.9 million in educational aid to support 3,563 students with disabilities (PWDs).
Each deserving student received a check of P2,500, symbolizing the province’s commitment to empowering every individual, regardless of ability.
The distribution commenced on Tuesday (March 12) in Mabalacat City, reflecting the governor’s dedication to reaching every corner of the province. The breakdown includes 554 PWDs in the first district, 893 in the second district, 1,195 in the third district, and 921 in the fourth district, as reported by the PWD Affairs Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
Governor Pineda reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritize the needs of PWDs, stating, “Prayoridad ko na mabigyan ng tulong ang mga PWD sa mga ayuda o mga tulong pinansyal ng Kapitolyo.”
This program is designed not only to provide financial assistance but also to increase accessibility to education for PWDs, thereby combating discrimination and fostering inclusivity.
The initiative builds upon the foundation laid by former Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, demonstrating a continued dedication to the welfare of Pampanga’s residents.
Moreover, Pampanga remains steadfast in its support for PWDs, offering medical and livelihood assistance to the registered 48,996 individuals with disabilities across the province.
