TARLAC CITY – Gov. Susan Yap shared the provincial government’s action plan in containing the spread of coronavirus disease in Tarlac.
As part of the trace, test, treat approach, the provincial Covid-19 task force is now using an application called QTracker which tracks the movement of persons in home quarantine through global positioning system.
“QTracker updates the location of person in home every two to three minutes through the GPS of his/her mobile phone. Through this, we could easily know if the person violated home quarantine and we could easily conduct contact tracing to prevent the disease from further spreading,” Yap explained.
The provincial health office conducted a prevalence survey, an epidemiological scientific approach in testing the prevalence of the Covid-19 in province, to 325 random persons from different households using the method Random Polymerase Chain Reaction Testing.
“From the 319 out of 325 results that came out, only one tested positive for Covid-19, which yields the prevalence rate to 0.003 percent, a relatively low percentage,” she said.
Yap disclosed that they will soon launch a delivery service provider to help micro, small, and medium enterprises sell their products in an effort to help the local economy recover after two months of restricted measures. — Gabriela Liana Barela/PIA–3
