Gov asks people anew to cooperate vs. crime

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Gov. Lilia Pineda has appealed anew to barangay officials, asking them to cooperate in the fight against all forms of criminality.

    Pineda met with officials of Arayat and Mexico towns over the weekend and asked them to report crimes, suspicious people and activities in their respective area. She also distributed P5,000 financial assistance to each barangays. 

    The first-term governor also announced that the communications through phone calls and SMS text messages with the Pampanga police is “24/7.” 

    Senior Supt. Edgardo Tinio, Pampanga police director, gave his calling cards to 200 barangay officials attending the meeting at the Benigno Hall. It contains Tinio’s personal phone number – 0917-889-4427, office numbers – 9610613 and 9633874.

    Tinio cited several incidents when lawless elements had been arrested after concerned residents reported criminal acts to the police.

    He stressed that “the governor’s all-out support is vital to the successful fight against crime.” 

    Tinio lauded Pineda for distributing tricycle units to each barangay in Pampanga. There are more than 500 villages in the province.

    Third District Board Members Monz Laus, Trina Dizon, Fritzie David-Dizon and Raul Macalino attended the meeting with Arayat and Mexico officials. They expressed support to the governor and police.
