MEXICO, Pampanga – Gov. Lilia Pineda has allotted P8-million for infrastructure projects here, earning praises from Mayor Teddy Tumang.
In ceremonies at the municipal hall on Tuesday, Tumang said the governor had given P4 million in 2011 and 2012 as part of the provincial government’s province-wide assistance to local government units.
Tumang said Pineda will also fund some P5-million projects for the construction of major (and barangay) roads in this first class municipality.
“This is a big help considering our funds are not enough to fund all our projects,” Tumang said.
Pineda led the distribution of tricycle units to all villages here. Each cost at least P90,000.
“This is good as the trike units can help in maintaining peace and order,” said Pineda in her speech.
Tumang added that the governor had also given a garbage truck worth P1.9 million which is expected to help boost his waste segregation program.
It could be recalled that Tumang was among the first mayors to construct and utilize a material recovery facility.
