BALANGA CITY – Business advocates and officials considered as symbolic and historical the launching on Friday of Go Negosyo in Bataan that they claimed would ignite a new revolution.

Mon Lopez, executive director of Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, said it was symbolic because it was the first time that a march was held in the launching of Go Negosyo, which was established by PCE in January 2005.

“This shows that officials of Bataan, particularly Balanga City, are very supportive and committed to push the entrepreneurial climate in the province,” Lopez, who joined the march in the 700-meter long route, said.

Paul Tibig, president of Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the movement will ignite a new revolution that will help solve unemployment and poverty.

“Bataan is known to the world over the Death March and now here comes the Negosyo march,” the businessman said.

Victor Tan, Go Negosyo advocate and owner of Bobson, said that the movement is all about mindsetting that will teach the youth “how to go into business and learn proper management of money.”

He said that the march attended by thousands of people was very significant in the Go Negosyo caravan.

Gov. Enrique Garcia thanked Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for her visit in Bataan, the second in two weeks.

He said that the launching of Go Negosyo complemented their action plan of turning Bataan into a hub for commerce and industry.

The President first launched the Information Hub project for high school students in Mariveles, Bataan about two weeks ago and was back to Balanga Friday in the launching of Go Negosyo.

Mrs. Arroyo also signed into law recently converting the Bataan Economic Zone into a Special Economic Zone with freeport status and the conversion into a national road of the Mariveles-Bagac Road.

“No. 1 sa Bataan si Presidente,” the governor said.

A trade fair also opened during the Go Negosyo launching where various products made in Bataan like bags, brooms, dried fish and others were for sale.
