Thus said Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales as he announced that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo gave P10 million for farm-to-market road projects in his town ensuring the steady production of agriculture products.
Morales showed to Punto the letter of Agriculture Sec. Arthur Yap dated October 29 stating that Mabalacat is the beneficiary of the infrastructure projects under the “GMA Rice Program.”
Morales said he will consult village officials on where to put the projects as “they know better.” He disclosed that agriculture and animal farms are concentrated in Barangays Bundagul, Paralayunan, Mabiga, Calumpang, Marcos Village, Mamatitang and Tabun.
Councilor Froy Galang thanked Arroyo for the infrastructure projects as “it will help the town improve more the welfare of farmers in our town.” He added that Morales had prioritized the food production as it will help reduce poverty and lack of food supply.
