Globe continues to expand its 5G coverage around the world, with its 5G roaming service now available in a total of 67 countries and territories.

Globe’s 5G footprint now includes Austria, (T-Mobile), Malaysia (Digi), Macau (CTM), US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico (AT&T), Vatican City (Windtre), Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales (EE), Russia (Megafon), and Northern Marianas (Docomo Pacific).

The company has also partnered with more international telecom providers, including  Hi3G in Denmark, SFR in France, Windtre in Italy, T-Mobile in the Netherlands, Slovak Telekom in Slovakia, Salt in Switzerland, and  MEO in Portugal.

Offering speeds faster than 4G, 5G technology currently offers the fastest mobile connectivity and download speeds. Globe pioneered 5G technology locally, the first operator in Southeast Asia to commercially launch 5G AirFiber for Home Use in 2019.

Travelers and foreign subscribers from these 5 countries and territories – Sri Lanka, Romania, Egypt, Isle of Man, and Mexico – may also enjoy Globe’s 5G roaming services when they visit the Philippines.

“With a 5G footprint spanning 67 countries and territories, we are thrilled to offer customers fast and reliable connectivity while they travel the world. We also paired their 5G experience with Globe data roaming promos that are now affordable and accessible for our customers via the GlobeOne app. Now, you can skip the hassle of switching to a local SIM or bringing an extra device to stay connected. As customers regain confidence to explore once more, Globe will be there to deliver cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions to make their lives better– wherever they are in the world,” said Coco Domingo, Vice President, Postpaid and International Business at Globe.

Postpaid subscribers may pre-register for their favorite data roaming promos a day before their trip through GlobeOne. They can opt for Roam Surf Longer Stay, which offers data roaming with longer validity ranging from three to 30 days and priced as low as P200/day. Or, Globe Postpaid roamers can choose to be immediately connected to an all-day data roaming service, Roam Surf 399, simply by turning on their mobile data and data roaming. Roam Surf 399 offers the convenience of a daily flat rate that automatically renews every 24 hours without the need to register for a promo.

For Globe Prepaid users, subscribers simply have to turn on their phones to instantly connect to roaming partners abroad and switch to 2G/3G mode if they have no active data promo upon arrival. They can then register to a range of Roam Surf promos including the long validity Roam Surf Longer Stay offers via GlobeOne or GCash.

Globe has spent massively on capital expenditures over the last two years to establish a significant infrastructure backbone. It now shifts towards capital efficiency and optimization.
