The fatality was identified as Jaselliet Wakit, a Grade 6 pupil while her siblings, aged 7 and 8, are now recuperating in a local hospital along with their grandmother Juliet Quigas, 51, all of the said barangay.
Senior Supt. Crizaldo Nieves, Nueva Ecija police director, identified the suspect as Isidro Bulandoso, married, and a resident of Barangay Rizal, also of this municipality.
Investigation showed the stabbing incident transpired at around 1:45 a.m. Friday when the suspect reportedly forcibly entered the room where the children were fast asleep and without a word stabbed them indiscriminately.
Jaselliet died on the spot.
Responding police authorities recovered from the crime scene the kitchen knife used by the suspect.
SPO1 Brademir Telo, police investigator, said a manhunt operation has been launched against Bulandoso.
A follow up investigation showed the suspect was facing acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7160 before the Nueva Ecija Provincial Prosecutor Office. The case, docketed as IS No. III- 09-INV-15F dated June 5, 2015 was filed by a daughter and another granddaughter of Quigas.
