Former Secretary of National Defense and senatorial candidate Gilbert (GIBO) Teodoro vows to support legislations, policies, and programs that will push for the improvement of benefits for Filipino educators.
Gibo Teodoro said there is a need to increase support for teachers, as this would be crucial in addressing current gaps and problems in education adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The former Tarlac congressman and 1989 Bar topnotcher said the government should provide adequate pay for educators, support them in pursuing career development, and give better benefits such as decent housing, improved health care benefits, and performance bonuses among others.
“These benefits will help boost the morale of our educators, whose primary task is beyond teaching. They become parents of our children while they are in school and ensure that the country produces quality workforce by providing quality education,” he said.
“The quality of our education lies in the hands of our teachers, and the government should provide adequate support for them,” Gibo Teodoro said.
