The week-long celebration hosted by the Central Luzon Health Research and Development Consortium (CLHRDC) and Department of Science and Technology Region III (DOST-3) will serve as a venue for the health research community and share insights, best practices, and experiences in developing innovative solutions to contribute to national recovery towards achieving resilience through health research and development.

He added that the event is an important opportunity to establish best practices towards nation-building.

“This is another opportunity you’ve created to harmonize the health research communities in our country. Your role especially in the present global condition is vital to our recovery and development as a nation,” said Garbo.

“Being the Focal Person for Health of the League of Cities of the Philippines, I appreciate your commitment and I am one with you in all of your health research agenda,” he added.

Marcos acknowledged the CLHRDC and DOST-3 for hosting the event and said that the cooperation and coordination of different agencies will help remove barriers to maximize efforts which brought “synergy in terms of knowledge and ways” that are currently being developed to mitigate the various problems amid the pandemic.

“Your organizations, coordination and leadership will help ensure that we can utilize the maximum economic and social benefits that stem from the rapid developments in science and medicine. Different issues will encourage discussion and exchange ideas to bind efforts amidst all difficulties as we open new ideas and evidence-based systems that we rely on,” said the President.

Garbo, enthused by the President’s support for the various endeavors of the organization, said this will bring great encouragement on future plans and developments on health. Garbo also hopes to explore how local government units and organizations can address the cities’ various health needs to achieve resilience and growth especially amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
