The town of Gabaldon in Nueva Ecija recently opened its very own Negosyo Center in its municipal hall on June 11, 2021 to help its growing number of entrepreneurs in the municipality. The third class municipality in southern Nueva Ecija held its two-day Balik Eskwela Diskwento Caravan at the municipal covered court from June 11 to 12, 2021, providing its residents with the opportunity to buy basic necessities, school supplies and materials, and prime commodities at discounted prices.
Atty. Jobby Emata, municipal mayor of Gabaldon joined DTI-3 Regional Director Leonila T. Baluyut and DTI Nueva Provincial Director Brigida T. Pili in launching both the new Negosyo Center and the Diskwento Caravan. The Negosyo Center is the 25th center to be opened in Nueva Ecija, 116th in Central Luzon and the 1,197th in the country. Mayor Emata expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the establishment of the Negosyo Center as this would provide his town mates access to the services of DTI, especially business name registration, business advisory and business information services. The center will also provide needed entrepreneurial training sessions for would be entrepreneurs or existing business persons who would want to upgrade their businesses.
Director Baluyut assured the attendees of the event that DTI will continue to support the initiatives of local government units to benefit both businesses and consumers. She noted that with the presence of the Negosyo Center, entrepreneurs can avail of the free services of the center which will be manned by a trained business counsellor. She also added that the Negosyo Center can help businesses who are looking for financial packages. Through the different assistance of DTI, she assured the local officials that the growing economy of the town will further move forward.
Provincial Director Brigida T. Pili said during the event that the municipality of Gabaldon has been a recipient of awards and recognition for its competitiveness. She cited that Gabaldon is one of the most active among the towns of Nueva Ecija in terms of participation in the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) program.
