Singapore-based executive check-up clinic enjoins Filipinos to take preventive healthcare more seriously
February 07, 2025 – Makati City, Philippines – Fullerton Health, a leading vertically integrated healthcare platform in Asia with a proven track record of providing clients and patients with enterprise healthcare solutions, in a recent talk, calls for a paradigm shift in how Filipinos look at health and well ness.
In a recent health forum held last January 30 at the Grand Westside Hotel in Paranaque, the company stressed that the new trend in wellness has shifted from curative to preventive and holistic healthcare. It was further stated that the common practice of exercise, eating healthy, a shift to a more healthy lifestyle must be complimented by regular health screening.
“The need to take a more active hand in staying healthy can only happen if we understand the importance of taking preventive steps to a healthier life,” said Carmie P. De Leon, country general manager for Fullerton Health’s Executive Health Screening and Advanced Diagnostic Imaging center in the Philippines. “After all, universal healthcare is possible if all elements of the healthcare ecosystem are present and work cohesively.”
De Leon noted that only if the key players in healthcare are aligned with one another and if people have access to both health insurance and quality health services can the goal of achieving universal access to affordable healthcare.
She further stressed that when it comes to health screening, the emerging trend is on providing customers with a pleasant experience that dispenses with long waiting time as well as the need to visit hospitals. Health screenings must be efficient and timely and technology-based while remaining as affordable as possible.
For instance, Fullerton Health PH’s executive health screening allows visitors no more than three hours to complete a comprehensive health screening. It also ensures that each person is allowed a personalized experience from the time they enter to the time the check-up is concluded. Then there is also the harnessing of technology such as AI to enable predictive diagnosis after the screening. And of course, there is also the need for screening clinics to have extensive partner hospitals so that referrals of their patients are expeditious.
Technology also plays a key role in ensuring the patient’s overall experience because it allows them to know what possible illnesses he or she may face if they don’t make that change.
“The health and wellness services industry is not the same as it used to be 10 or 15 or 20 years ago. Today’s new wave in health and wellness is that it must be preventive, predictive, personalized and pleasant.” De Leon further added.
