ANGELES CITY – As his way of recognizing the invaluable contributions of educators in shaping the future of Angeleño youth, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on Oct. 4 sent personal greeting cakes to 67 public schools here in celebration of Teachers’ Day.

“Our teachers serve as a backbone of our community, as well as of our children. This is just a small token of appreciation for their unwavering dedication,” Lazatin said.

On the mayor’s behalf, the gender and development office headed by Mina Cabiles, and the city barangay outreach office led by Michael Lising personally delivered two cakes to each school.

Lazatin also provided 3,800 snacks for the Teachers’ Day celebration of the Angeles City Public School Teachers Association (ACPUSTA). In addition, he donated 10 units of 32″ television sets as raffle prizes.

“Happy Teachers’ Day pu! Luid kayu pu!” Lazatin greeted the city’s teacjers.

Last Sept. 12, Lazatin’s chief adviser IC Calaguas, and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel met with ACPUSTA president Jerome Esguerra for the said celebration, pledging the mayor’s support.

Since assuming the city mayoralty, Lazatin has made it a point to send his personal greeting cakes and providing snacks and raffle prizes for the celebration of Teachers’ Day.

Lazatin also recently shared that the city government has allocated P5 million for public school teachers in the 2025 budget intended for their additional allowance and training fund. Angeles CIO
