ANGELES CITY — With free face masks for all as advocacy, city councilor Amos Rivera initiated A Mask of Safety (AMOS).

Launched in August, Rivera said Project AMOS will help create awareness of the importance of wearing face masks as protection against Covid-19.

“Our goal is to give free face masks to those who cannot afford to buy one. Rather than penalizing them for not wearing, why not give them a face mask as an option under the best circumstances,” Rivera said.

Project AMOS aims to produce 10,000 pieces to be distributed to the jeepney and tricycle drivers, security guards, construction workers, street vendors, senior citizens, and children.

“Although there are others who are also requesting, we will accommodate everyone as much as we can,” Rivera said. “We will save thousands of lives through this project and I hope more people will support me on this.”

Project AMOS will continue distributing face masks in different communities and barangays in this city as the production is ongoing.
