PALAYAN CITY – In lieu of flowers and chocolates, more than 200 residents received free eyeglasses as Valentine treat of the mayor’s daughter at the city conference hall here.
Vianne Cuevas, who recently celebrated her 25th birthday by leading the planting of indigenous trees, initiated the activity dubbed as “Can’t take my eyes off you” from Saturday to Sunday to enable indigents “better see the beauty of love.”
The daughter of Mayor Adrianne Mae Cuevas and businessman Vince also offered free eye test that was administered by an optometrist.
“Ito po ay para sa mga kapwa ko Palayanos na nais magkaroon ng maayos at bagong salamin,” Vianne said.
“Talagang after ng birthday niya ay mag-project uli para sa mga taga-Palayan at ito nga timing sa Valentine’s,” said the mayor.
While the project was personally funded by the family, it earned the support of barangay officials and sangguniang kabataan.
