CABANATUAN CITY – The city government has launched here a drive-thru antigen testing in an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus through timely detection of suspect, probable, or confirmed patients.
Vice Mayor Julius Cesar Vergara said the city government also sends teams to undertake antigen testing on village officials.
“Sa ngayon ay wala dapat pulitika, sama-sama tayong lahat laban sa Covid,” Vergara said, noting that even non-allied village officials undergo testing.
Residents who tested positive in antigen and RT-PCR testing were given up to 10 kilos of rice and grocery packs, he said.
Meanwhile, three seniors aged 60 to 85, were the latest fatalities, raising to 39 the total coronavirus-related deaths here as of Saturday, the city health office reported.
The elderlies who came from the villages of Balite, Caalibangbangan and Kap. Pepe were suffering from other health conditions that included pnuemonia, hypertension and acute respiratory failure, the report said.
This city has to date 1,419 confirmed Covid-19 cases, of which 258 are active and 1,122 have recovered.
