Mayor Teddy Tumang said on Wednesday here that 20 dialysis machines will be used in the center where 10 were already purchased by the municipal government and the other 10 will be given by the Department of Health (DOH).
Tumang said “every dialysis session is free for residents of Mexico” while non-residents will only pay 50 percent of the dialyzer which costs around P1,100. “That means the non-resident patients will only pay P550,” he said.
The mayor said the only requirement is a PhilHealth membership card but once its free 90 sessions is consumed, the municipal government will give out the treatment for free.
However, non-residents will still pay the P300 doctor’s fee, he said.
“The only expenses shouldered by the patients are their maintenance medicines,” Tumang said.
The mayor explained that based on a feasibility study, the center won’t stand to lose but will even gain from every patient that will undergo treatment.
“No wonder a lot of dialysis centers have sprung out from everywhere,” he said. But Tumang assured that the profits will be given back to the patients in terms of services and the improvement of the center.
