CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Hundreds of houses were left either totally or partially damaged by a freak tornado that struck five barangays in Paniqui, Tarlac late Friday afternoon.

In a report yesterday morning, the Tarlac Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) disclosed that the tornado totally destroyed 49 houses and partially damaged 205 more.

”A total of 254 families or 1,095 persons in the villages of Ventinilla, Cabayaoasan, Tablang, Salumague, and Nancamarinan were affected by this unfortunate incident” said PDRRMC executive officer Virgilio Florendo.

The municipal government of Paniqui  extended  various forms of assistance costing P38,100 to the affected families.

Weird phenomena in nature are being reported all over the world, as some sectors attribute these to climate change.  Since last year, there have been growing reports of severe rains, heat waves, sink holes, bodies of water turning into blood-red color, strange booms or even trumpet-like sounds, and even strange lights in the skies in various countries worldwide.
