BAGAC, Bataan – Police on Monday nabbed in Bagac, Bataan a former aide of Senator Panfilo “Ping”Lacson who is allegedly wanted for multiple murder. Suspect is also subject to further investigation to determine alleged participation in the celebrated Dacer-Corbito case.
Senior Supt. Arnold Gunnacao, Bataan police director, said a police team led by SPO2 Danilo Nazareno arrested retired SPO4 Reynaldo Oximoso alias Rene, 60, a former member of the defunct Philippine Constabulary, in barangay Binukawan, Bagac at 11:30 a.m.
Suspect aside from Binukawan has for his address Gen. Aguinaldo, Cavite. He was arrested based on a Warrant of Arrest issued on April 22, 1993 by Judge Jaime Salazar of the Regional Trial Court Branch 103 in Quezon City.
While with the Military Intelligence Security Group (MISG), Oximoso with five others was involved in the alleged murder of five agents of the Criminal Investigation Service. Two suspects had allegedly died while the rest are still at-large until the arrest of Oximoso, Information officer Insp. Dennis Orbista said.
“Nang ipinapahanap ko ang suspect, allegedly involved daw ito sa Dacer-Corbito murder case pero wala pang proof, panay allegation kaya for further investigation pa to determine kung totoo o hindi na may kinalaman siya sa twin murder,”Gunnacao said.
Suspect said he worked with Lacson as driver-aide from 1983 to 2004. He refused to answer other questions from the media.
Police said suspect revealed to have been offered P10 million for him to implicate Senator Lacson in the Dacer-Corbito murder.
Suspect surrendered without resistance although he at first denied he was Oximoso, the Bataan police chief said. Oximoso yielded a caliber .45 pistol.
Sgt. Nazareno said they have placed suspect under surveillance for so long until they received reports that Oximoso attended Sunday night a victory party of a cousin who won as barangay captain in Binukawan. The police intelligence officer said they closely monitored the movement of the suspect until they saw him at the Binukawan cemetery visiting the grave of his mother.
Armed with a warrant, Nazareno said they nabbed suspect in the company of relatives in a house near the church in Binukawan.
Police also said the suspect will be brought to the Regional Trial Court in Quezon City after interrogation and documentation.
