FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – A former mass organization of the communist terrorist group in Zambales received accreditation from the government as a people’s organization.
Soldiers of the Bravo (Braveheart) Company, 70th Infantry (Matapat at Matatag) Battalion of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division of the Philippine Army facilitated the awarding of certification of accreditation to the “Samahan ng Organisadong Aeta sa Barangay Buhawen at Santa Fe People’s Organization” held at the sangguniang bayan hall of San Marcelino, Zambales last Oct. 17.
The local government unit of San Marcelino, notably Vice Mayor Christopher Gongora, also assisted in facilitating the said awarding of accreditation.
The said PO is a former mass organization of the CTG named “Rebolusyonaryong Organisasyong Aeta” which was unearthed by the Community Support Program team and was convinced to turn into a people’s organization.
“The accreditation of POs gave easy access to different assistance programs coming from the LGU and other respective government offices,” said 70IB commanding officer Lt. Col. Ronnel B. Dela Cruz.
Major Gen. Andrew D Costelo, commander of 7ID, emphasized the empowerment of POs that will insulate them from the CTG’s “Arouse-Organize-Mobilize” tactics, establish resiliency to the POs and to create opportunities that will help them to start a normal life.
